The online Diccionari de sinologia (‘Dictionary of Mastology’) offers to users almost 1.100 terms related to this subject field; in particular, terms about mammary anatomy and phisiology, diagnostic techniques, breast pathology and treatments. Each entry includes denominations and definition in Catalan, term equivalents in Spanish, French, Italian and English, terms from the Terminologia Anatomica (TA) and, eventually, explanatory notes.
This is a terminology work carried out by Pere Culell, Adelaida Fandos and Maribel Nieto –medical professionals linked to the Mastology Section of the Barcelona Medical Association–, with the advice of TERMCAT. The support of the Catalan Government’s Ministry of Health has been essential.
The online publication aims to make this terminology accessible to everyone involved in mastology. We encourage you to use the terminology, as well as to spread it among your professional colleagues and make us any suggestion to improve or update it.
Clicking on “Consulta de termes” (‘Term search’), terms can be looked up in three ways: using the alphabetical indexes (there is a different index for each language), using the thematic access or making simple or advanced searches in the upper space “Text de la consulta” (‘Text search’) in any of the dictionary languages.
