The Diccionari d’anatomia (‘Anatomy Dictionary’) gathers 3.622 terms from the field of human anatomy. Each term includes the Catalan name and the equivalents in Spanish and English, as well as the denominations corresponding to the Terminologia Anatomica (TA, formerly Nomina Anatomica), a standardized international scientific nomenclature of this field.

It is the online version for the Diccionari d’anatomia (‘Anatomy Dictionary’), developed in 1993 by TERMCAT and Fundació Barcelona with the support of the Catalan Ministry of Culture and the counsel of Professor Víctor Götzens at Universitat de Barcelona’s Faculty of Medicine.

This online edition is a second updated and extended edition, developed thanks to the support of the Catalan Ministry of Health and the counsel of Professor Josep Reig at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona’s Faculty of Medicine.

The dictionary hopes to be a practical reference tool for all professionals who use anatomical terminology, from both academic and research fields. We encourage you to use it, disseminate it and let us know any suggestions or updates you may have.

Clicking on "Consulta de termes" (‘Term search’), terms can be looked up in two ways: either using the alphabetical indexes (there is a different index for each language) or making simple or advances searches in the upper space "Text de la consulta" (‘Text search’).
