The Terminologia de les malalties infeccioses (‘Terminology of the infectious diseases’) brings together near 220 basic terms associated with these diseases. It is complemented by a flipping cards infographic with key terms of microbiology and infectious diseases. By these works TERMCAT gives its support to La Marató de TV3 this year's program, dedicated to these major health conditions, with the aim of contributing to give them greater visibility, from the field of terminology.

The terms come from sectoral terminology work carried out in the ongoing projects in the field of health sciences. The dictionary has been developed in collaboration with experts belonging to Societat Catalana del Diccionari Enciclopèdic de Medicina, and also in coordination with linguists of ésAdir, the language portal of the Catalan Broadcasting Corporation (CCMA).

Each terminological entry contains the preferred denomination in Catalan and the corresponding synonyms, if any; equivalents in Spanish, French and English; a definition in Catalan, and explanatory notes when necessary. It also includes the thematic area or areas each term belongs to.

Clicking on "Consulta de termes" (‘Term search’), terms can be looked up in three ways: using the alphabetical indexes (there is a different index for each language), using the thematic access or making simple or advanced searches in the upper space "Text de la consulta" (‘Text search’) in any of the dictionary languages.
